Bachelor’s students must complete: 

1. An eight-week mandatory summer internship after their second year 
2. A year-long industry placement during their final year of the four-year degree 

Eight-week mandatory internship 
This short-term experience is designed to give students early exposure to real-world industry environments, allowing them to apply foundational knowledge gained in their coursework. During this period, students are expected to engage in practical tasks, build professional skills, and begin developing an understanding of workplace expectations within their field. 

One-year mandatory industry placement 

This co-op structure is one-of-a-kind and was built in conjunction with industry leaders and entrepreneurs; producing candidates ready for impact from day one. 

During the final year of the four-year program, students will undertake a full-time, one-year mandatory industry placement. Unlike the earlier internship, this placement is an immersive, long-term commitment where students will not be enrolled in any academic courses throughout their fourth year and will instead be fully dedicated to their industry role.  

This experience is intended to provide deeper specialization, hands-on contribution to projects, and meaningful integration into a professional setting.

Our master’s and Ph.D. students must complete one mandatory internship prior to graduation: 

• Minimum duration of the master’s internship is six weeks in length, and takes place the summer after the first year, and the summer prior to graduation 
• Minimum duration of the Ph.D internship is three months in length, and is recommended during the summer after the second or third year of the Ph.D program 
• The internship is offered in an in-person or hybrid format (x 3 days a week in the office, and x 2 days remotely)
